Spend less than you earn.
Most individuals’ budget exceeds their earning.
Avoid the use of debt.
Not all debt is good debt. Many individuals have allowed debt to
become their imaginary pie. Some debt is unavoidable
(houses, autos) but we can’t allow credit cards to become our way of life.
Build an emergency fund.
We should strive to have at least 3 months worth
of expenses set aside for unforeseen emergency circumstances.
Set long-term financial goals.
Social Security is not a guarantee. It is up to us
to make sure that we properly prepare for retirement.
The plans of the diligent lead to profit as surely
as haste leads to poverty. -Proverbs 21:5
